Natural Farma continues to push for HUMIGUT’s recognition as an organic-approved feed additive, despite ongoing regulatory hurdles.
HUMIGUT, a complementary feed derived from Leonardite and rich in Humic Acids, boasts a strong safety profile and natural origin. However, it remains ineligible for use in organic livestock production—a situation that has mystified both industry experts and farmers alike. Interestingly, liquid humates are already permitted as soil conditioners on organic-certified land, adding to the inconsistency surrounding current regulations.
Natural Farma has been proactive in challenging this stance. Efforts include direct lobbying of MPs, engaging with DEFRA, and submitting a comprehensive dossier to the EGTOP committee—an expert group that provides technical guidance on organic production.
The future looks promising. With continued advocacy and growing awareness of HUMIGUT’s benefits, Natural Farma is optimistic about securing organic approval. This step would further enhance its role in promoting sustainable and high-performance livestock farming.
